Home service massage: what to expect

How to get ready, how booking and paying work, and how to get the most out of a massage at home.

Before your therapist comes

Choose a quiet room with enough space to lie down, and keep a clean towel and a pillow nearby. Your therapist brings the massage oil; you pick unscented, lavender, lemongrass or peppermint when you book. Eat lightly beforehand, and keep pets in another room.

When you book

Pick the massage, how long, and who it is for. Book It asks one health question for every booking, so your therapist knows what to avoid. You can choose a female or male therapist, the pressure you like, and add hot stone or ventosa to a Swedish or deep tissue massage.

Paying

Nothing is charged until a therapist accepts. Then you pay the 30% booking fee online by QR Ph, with GCash, Maya or your bank app, and the other 70% to your therapist in cash or GCash. The travel fee for your address is already in the total you saw.

During the massage

Tell your therapist if the pressure is too much or too little, or if anything hurts. You stay in charge of the session: you can ask to stop at any time. You can message your therapist in the app, and that chat is monitored by Book It.

How long to book

One hour is enough for a relaxing full-body Swedish massage. Choose 1½ or 2 hours for deep tissue work on tight shoulders and back, or a full-body massage with a foot reflexology finish.

If you have a health condition

If you are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery or have a heart condition, ask your doctor first and say so in the health question. A massage is for relaxation and is not a medical treatment.
